Up for sale is a very attractive Antique French Chamelot Delvigne Officer’s Revolver believed to have been manufactured in St. Etienne, France during the 1870s to early 1880s period. This revolver has excellent antique character and appears to be a privately acquired officer-style example featuring a fluted cylinder and additional decorative engraving not commonly seen on standard military examples.

Marked “St Etienne” on the barrel and cylinder flute area. Additional markings include an anchor proof mark under the barrel and another marking on the cylinder face believed to read “MUBGIE” (please review photos carefully).

Mechanically, the revolver has very solid lock-up and good timing for its age. The bore retains visible rifling with strong lands and grooves. There is some scattered age-related pitting, handling wear, and antique machining/tool marks consistent with black powder era firearms.

The single-action trigger pull is excellent and crisp. The revolver has historically been fired in single-action operation only. Previous owner had custom brass made for it and reported reliable functioning with specialized deep-seated primer loads. This firearm is being sold primarily as a collectible antique and any future shooting should only be performed by someone experienced with obsolete antique firearms and cartridges.
