Offered here is an original Dutch Model 1873 Army Revolver chambered in 9.4mm Dutch, featuring the desirable early octagonal barrel configuration, original military blue finish, smooth walnut grips, and classic late-19th century European military styling. This is a true antique revolver representing the transitional era from percussion sidearms into metallic-cartridge double-action military handguns.

Serial number 1761 is present on the underside of the barrel. The revolver displays Dutch military inspection and acceptance markings throughout, along with a partially visible Maastricht maker marking on the frame consistent with production by P. Stevens. These early Dutch military revolvers were heavily influenced by the Chamelot-Delvigne system and served both in Europe and the Dutch East Indies.

Condition is very respectable for its age, retaining approximately 90% of its original military blue finish with attractive plum-brown toning, honest holster wear, edge thinning, and scattered oxidation consistent with antique military service use. The revolver has excellent eye appeal overall and presents as a strong collector-grade example.

The bore remains in very good condition with visible rifling throughout. Mechanically, the revolver functions very well in both single-action and double-action modes. Timing and lockup feel solid. The original two-piece smooth walnut grips remain in very good condition, showing normal handling marks, service wear, and minor dents, but no major cracks or structural damage observed.

The revolver also retains its original military lanyard ring and loading gate assembly, further adding to its authenticity and collector desirability.

These Dutch M1873 revolvers are becoming increasingly difficult to locate in original condition with strong finish retention and mechanically functional actions. A highly collectible antique European military revolver with excellent display value and historical significance.
